Transcribed from a digital image of a copy of the will obtained from the national archives on 15 Feb 2024. [1] Spellings have been maintained, but paragraph breaks have been I troduced for ease of reading and were not present in the original. The only beneficiary is Charles’ wife Mary Hall.

Transcription

This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Hall of the parish of Droxford in the County of Southampton Gentleman

First I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be duly paid and satisfied as soon as reasonably may be after my decease

I give devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Mary Hall all and singular my houses lands household goods and furniture debts monies stocks funds and such [?] for money and all other my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever which I may be possessed of or entitled unto at the time of my decease To hold the same unto her the said Mary Hall her heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the tenure and nature thereof respectively to and for her and their own absolute use and benefit

And I do hereby no I ate and appoint her my said wife sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and so declare this only to be my one last Will and testament in witness whereof I the said Charles Hall the testator have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this twenty seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine Charles Hall SS Signed sealed and published by the said Testator Charles Hall in the presence of us who subscribed our names hereto in his presence Genorge Henry Hares William Porre

Proved at London the 5th day of December 1844 before the Judge by the oath of Mary Hall widow the relict the sole executrix to whom admon was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer.
